There are good hospitals.
There are good teaching hospitals.
Try not to confuse the two.

-- Dr. Greg Ozark, Chief of Residency, Loyola University

We believe one to two years of residency is critical for a ministry student to be prepared upon graduation. Our logo says we create church leaders, but we actually know this happens at  local churches. Our academic plan includes the intentionality of finishing one's degree online, embedded at a local church.

If you are a church leader and are interested in being a residency location, take a moment to view the documents below, fill out the application, and let's talk soon!

six core principles

1. YOU WANT MORE FOR THEM THAN FROM THEM

2. YOUR CHURCH IS HEALTHY

3. YOUR LEAD PASTOR BELIEVES A RESIDENT IS WORTH   the INVESTMENT

4. YOUR MINISTRY LEADER CAN MANAGE & DEVELOP A RESIDENT

5. YOUR MINISTRY LEADER CAN meet WEEKLY 1-ON-1 WITH THE RESIDENT

6. YOU CAN PROVIDE COMPENSATION & HOUSING

If this describes you and your church, we'd love to have you then fill out the application and begin the process of becoming a residency location for the next generation of church leaders. Following the application will be a series of conversations with Andy Dykhouse, our Director of Leadership Development.

RESIDENCY LOCATIONS

What students, leaders,
and professors are saying

"One thing I've learned through my time in ministry and at Slingshot is that there are way more awesome ministry positions open than there are awesome people to fill them. This closes that gap and I'm all in."
-- Tim Foot, Worship Leader Lifebridge Church, Denver

"Through my experience I learned the best way to grow is by doing life and ministry under and alongside people who are already leading well with wisdom, courage, and love."
-- Amanda Huen, Resident, Discovery Church

"NC residents bring real leadership horsepower to our staff as well as a caliber of character and energy that are both huge benefits to us.  We have two residents in 2015 and plant to ask for four in 2016 - they are such an asset to a church staff."
--Steve Cuss, Senior Pastor, Discovery Church, Broomfield, CO

"My residency has been a season of affirmation that this is what God has called to do, and its been a season of learning from some great men and women who have been doing ministry longer than I have been alive. I wouldn't trade it for anything."
-- Dakota Draper, Resident, Crossroads Christian, Lexington, KY

"Residency has given me a chance to be hands on in my kids ministry. I'm not only growing in my faith, but in my confidence of my own kids ministry in the future."
--Kelsey DePauw, Resident,  Discovery Church in Broomfield, CO

"My residency has given me the chance to learn practical leadership in a real world setting. Ministry changed for me with these interactions when I actually sat across the table from people."
--Daniel Norton, Resident, Central Christian Church, Mesa, AZ
