PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the Next Generation Ministry major, students will be able to effectively organize and administer a youth/student ministry in a local church, demonstrate competency in the counseling of students, and to communicate effectively the Word of God using sound principles of preaching and teaching.
Students will also gain the ability to effectively lead with church staff by working alongside youth ministry professionals and be able to decipher the dynamics of what it takes to recruit, retain, and lead groups of volunteers.
Students will have an understanding of adolescent development that accounts for a variety of categories including physical, psychological, and spiritual development, as well as how adolescent culture affects a variety of ministry decisions and the communication of God’s Word to the next generation.
Students will be able to implement leadership principles needed for youth ministry in the local church and youth para-church organizations, as well as keep up on ministry trends, changes, challenges, and technology.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The professors are willing to go above and beyond for their students in any way they can, inside and outside the classroom. They taught me the material and sat down with me to help me plan my future while giving me advice on a specialty that I would love.
