Racial Reconciliation with Dr. Jerry Taylor

Dr. Jerry Taylor will be speaking in Chapel on Friday, October 7 at 11:00 am on Racial Reconciliation. A light lunch will be provided; to be followed at 1:15 pm by a round table discussion led by Dr. Taylor on OUR ROLE IN RACE AND RESTORATION. Other confirmed speakers include Kenny Onatolu, former NFL player with the Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers; and David Tollefson, two time super bowl champion with the New York Giants. 

Dr. Jerry Andrew Taylor is an Associate Professor of Bible at Abilene Christian University (ACU), located in Abilene, Texas. Dr. Taylor has successfully designed and taught courses of Jesus: His Life and Teachings, Christianity in Culture, Preaching in African American Congregations, and many others.

Dr. Taylor’s work over the years has centered on resolving racial injustice within institutions and organizations. He combines his Biblical background and work with his extensive knowledge of marginalization to influences organizational change that is inclusive of people of color. This influence can be seen through his creation of the Racial Unity Leadership Summit (RULS), which is a national dialogue and workshop series on ways in which to racially de-segregate churches.  Dr. Taylor also advocates for racial justice by mentoring students and through participating in groups such as the National Association of Black School Educators and the Stone-Campbell Dialogue.
